Education, not a personal recommendation
This resource is for historical research and education. Its stories, charts and investigations are not personalized investment advice, an offer to buy or sell a security, a trading signal or a recommendation suitable for your circumstances. Reading the site does not create an advisory relationship with MCO Capital Partners LLC or its contributors.
Past performance does not predict future results. Investments can lose value. An apparent historical resemblance does not establish that the same outcome will occur again.
A chart's basis matters
Fund and company studies use captured end-of-day records, not live or executable quotes. Provider-adjusted closes reflect the provider's split and dividend conventions. They are not an independently reconstructed reinvestment account or an investor's realized return after fees, taxes and transaction costs.
Where a split-only closing-price path is selected, later share splits are applied to earlier reported closes; dividends are excluded. A price can regain a prior closing high on a different date from an adjusted path. Neither clock is an intraday high or an inflation-adjusted investor result.
Named ETFs remain funds, not official index histories or constant historical memberships. Selected company cases are survivors chosen to investigate a question. They are not a representative stock population, a reconstructed Nifty Fifty portfolio or a measure of all failed companies.
Dates, losses and recovery answer different questions
A change from a chosen entry, a decline from the highest close inside that interval and an episode found in a full retained history have different bases. Read the dates and definition beside each figure. Peak and trough selections made with hindsight were not available to someone investing then.
Comparisons use their stated retained observations and alignment rules. Missing records stay missing. Fiscal periods, filing dates, portfolio dates, economic reference months and document publication dates are distinct. Reported corporate facts are not synchronized fundamental comparisons; a retrospective price-to-fiscal-earnings ratio is not a valuation known on that trading date.
History Lab finds cases, not odds
Lab results describe retained observations meeting your submitted conditions. Windows can overlap, horizons can be incomplete and current-vintage economic data can differ from information available at the time. Counts, ranges and forward paths are not independent probabilities, causal estimates, a forecast or a simulation of actual trading.
Political decisions, wars, policy announcements and company events provide context. Displaying them beside a market path does not establish why that price moved.
Captured evidence has limits
Observation dates and capture vintages are shown separately in the figure's evidence. Historical economic estimates and provider adjustments may be revised. The latest retained observation is not a promise of current coverage or a refresh schedule. Source gaps, partial years and excluded estimates remain disclosed.
Check material facts against the cited original source before relying on them. A passed calculation check confirms that calculation on its retained inputs; it does not independently certify every publisher observation or historical interpretation.
Credits and permission are separate
Source names and links acknowledge the people and institutions behind the evidence. They do not imply endorsement or grant reuse rights. A free-to-read, nonmonetized site still needs applicable permission for the material it displays.
The current local edition includes internally licensed sample price studies and optional private research. Those labels do not authorize public distribution. Any public edition must admit only material cleared for that use and retain its required attribution and license notices. Read the source-specific credits and scope notes.
Local preferences and saved questions
This edition stores your appearance choice and any History Lab questions you choose to save in your browser's local storage. Saved questions can include your typed names and notes. They are not submitted to a provider or an account service; anyone using that browser profile may be able to read them. Clearing the site's browser storage removes them.
Page loads read retained local data and do not call market-data providers. External source links open the source publisher's site, where that publisher's policies apply. A future hosted edition will need a privacy notice reflecting its actual hosting, request logs and any analytics.
